Bachelor of Science in Communications and Media Technology
The Communication and Media faculty is committed through teaching, research, service, and student character formation to provide community leaders in media, who will teach integrity and values that will produce innovative, loving, and self-reliant individuals.
Abilities
A graduate should:
- be able to translate theoretical principles learned into practical solutions to help in the communication of news and ideas.
- have developed interpersonal skills as a result of interacting with fellow students in their discussion groups.
- have learned good communication skills through technology that helps the community to move forward in development.
- be able to manage various aspects of writing and producing both audio and video for the African culture.
Character
A graduate should:
- be morally upright with a high level of integrity in their daily lives.
- be self-motivated because of their experience as students of LIU.
- have goals and possess the zeal to achieve those goals.
Knowledge
- A graduate should have gained a good understanding and ability to transfer the knowledge attained in their study area into the day-to-day issues they face at their work places.
- A graduate should be able to think critically, analyze ideas thoroughly, and communicate clearly and concisely.
Program Requirements for student Research:
Students are to present their research work to their major professor when it is completed. Projects will be presented in class and analyzed by fellow students.
Program internship/Practical experience:
Field work is to be a course unit on its own and graded independently. This work should be completed before the fourth year of study.
